About this app

We have 3 kids. When they all play Tablet we feel like in the middle of a fair.

Is this familiar?

Headphones to the rescue?

But if they produce over 85 dB they will harm your kids' hearing!

Special headphones for kids?
Wired headphones for kids may not always meet the limit and their wireless counterparts are expensive and they emit EM radiation.

Use "Voli" instead!

Get $1 headphones and cap your kids tablet volume with "Voli".

Test your setup decibels!

We tested "Voli" to be under 85 dB on devices around. But we recommend you borrow a decibel meter to check your setup before using with your kids.

Under "output", I have it set so that the volume limit doesn't apply to the phones speaker, but it still does and I can't turn the speaker as high as I'd like to. That takes a couple stars from me, but otherwise it's very good.

Hello Miranda, does this happen when no other speaker is connected (e.g., headphones or BT speakers), or does it happen regardless of which speakers are currently available for playback? Could you please contact [email protected] and give us more details? Thank you.

Useless for YouTube App can't work in background. I've installed it for my daughter so that she can watch YouTube videos at lower volume levels, but app failed to do what it's made for. please fix this bug. Note: I've checked this app by enabling "Allow background running" in phone settings but still it failed.

Hello, if the volume block keeps stopping, please make sure the app is not restricted by the system. Please check here on how to resolve such issues: https://dontkillmyapp.com/. There are usually one system-wide optimization for all apps, and several for each app. For details please contact [email protected]. Thank you.

Genuine usability problems. Every option is confusing and not explained ("output"? "streams"? "Calibration"... Of what? What am I calibrating? How? On what scale?). Pressing "Test" just blasted my ears with a loud damaging sound, with no warning, no clarity (exactly the opposite of what you'd want). The idea is good but the setup and usability leaves much to be desired. Edit: The names are ok, but they should have a tooltip once opened explaining what you said now imho. Especially Test audio!

Hello Dan, we were trying to make the interface self-explanatory, for example, with icons explaining and demonstrating the output and stream options. We will definitely focus on how to better communicate the "play test" button. Thank you.
