Use of English

Use of English consists of texts with vocabulary and grammar tasks. Students are expected to be able to understand different types of texts like magazines and newspaper, fiction, short stories and internet articles.

Reading

The reading part consists of a range of texts and tasks that test students' reading ability. It involves answering multiple-choice questions about a text, with candidates expected to be able to read a text for detail, opinion, tone, purpose, main idea, implication and attitude. It also involves choosing paragraphs to fill the gaps in a text, with candidates expected to demonstrate understanding of the structure and development of a text.

Listening

The listening part of the Cambridge English exams assesses the candidate's ability to comprehend spoken English in different situations. The exam may include various types of listening tasks, such as Multiple Choice, Matching, and Gapped Texts. Candidates listen to recordings of dialogues, monologues, and conversations to answer questions related to the information conveyed

Speaking

The Speaking test is taken face to face, with two candidates and two examiners. It tests your use of English with tasks that show how well you can control your grammar and vocabulary.

Writing

The writing test assesses your ability to produce clear, well-structured texts in English. You’ll complete tasks that may include emails, essays, reports, articles, letters or reviews. This part of the exam tests how well you can organize your ideas, use appropriate vocabulary, and apply correct grammar in real-life writing situations.

Grammar

English grammar is the set of structural rules of the English language. This includes the structure of words, phrases, clauses, sentences, and whole texts. In other words, grammar is the structure and system of a language usually considered to consist of syntax and morphology.

Collocations

A collocation is two or more words that often go together. These combinations just sound "right" to native English speakers, who use them all the time. On the other hand, other combinations may be unnatural and just sound "wrong". Collocations are expected to show up during the B2, C1 and C2 examinations.
